This has been asked on Issues:

https://github.com/RestExpress/RestExpress/issues/136

Is there a way to send a large file without the need to load its contents in memory?

Hi Ori,

Not at present. RestExpress was made for JSON APIs. At present it doesn't support streaming, but it's definitely of interest to me.

Thanks,

Alright, thanks for the answer.

Do you plan on releasing an update anytime soon? Maybe I can help?

Hi again.

Think with the new changes that RE had undergone, can this be added also? It would help with us who use RE to serve HTML as well.

Also, I can send a pr to add HTML rendering support (using FreeMarker templates)?

Thanks.

Hi Ori,

I am very interested in this feature as well. And although I have a branch where this *almost* works, it's not quite there. It makes the browser fail for some reason. I haven't had time to circle back to it--and now it's a bit stale.

Regarding the FreeMarker templates, I would love to have a plugin built for that! Is your code directly against the main codebase or could it be built as a plugin?

Thanks,
