to restas
I've been playing with restas a little bit and I'm really impressed
with the ease and flexibility of working with it -- especially the
aspect that it gives a great deal of convenience and capability
without otherwise imposing limitations on architectural or stylistic
choices available to the application developer.

I'm really glad you posted the docs in english -- prior to that i was
using Google Translate on the russian documentation to try and figure
things out. I wasn't having very much success and I definitely wasn't
getting the picture about the power restas provides. Its deceptive at
first because it has an approach quite orthogonal to other lispy web
frameworks I've tried --- and that's a good thing.

The integration with SLIME is an especially exciting prospect, but
i've found that even tracking slime mainline is a moving target and
adding alternate branches into the equation is really problematic. On
the other hand, the inspector specializations you've created for
restas are pretty fantastic. I'm sure I'm not the only person who
looks at that and sees a very useful, attractive, and practical to
implement facility I'd love to start incorporating into my own
projects. Have you considered submitting these customizations for
inclusion into the mainline SLIME? Being able to leverage SLIME for
that kind of lightweight application user-interface would be
tremendously useful to a lot of people i think. A long time ago the
Marco Berringer ( i think) and the "hu.dwim" project team had custom
hooks and some SLIME interface integration for their own packages, but
unfortunately for some reason those were never integrated into the
SLIME mainline and alas over time that branch's functionality
deteriorated and the capability is no longer supported in newer
versions of their packages.

Thanks for your efforts and good luck with project RESTAS.

Hi,

I apologize in advance for my English. I can normally read it,
but terrible writing on it.

Thank you

Here my little contribution. I've only written documentation in Russian.
The main work by translation performed Valeriy Fedotov, and
Vladimir Sedach made the final editing of the translation. Much thanks
to them for that.

I would be happy. In the slime-archimag only a few small changes. I
tried to send a couple of patches in the slime-devel, but did not meet
there understanding. Perhaps the problem in my English. But, I have
direct contact with Stas Boukarev (one of the active committers SLIME)
and he also did not express any interest in apply my changes. So I just
do not know how to do it.

I could prepare the necessary patches with a small comment - can
someone more authoritative or better writing in English would be able
to get their acceptance into the main tree.
