Comet and Bayeux - maybe a way to do mobile REST efficiently?

Thanks Sam for going into great detail regarding the problems mobile devices face WRT battery life, radio lifecycle and our APIs.

I have been interested in Comet and Bayeux for several years, and it may be an interesting way to accomplish piggybacking and pipelining in a RESTful manner:
