OK, this is kind of a "Last Call" for the RESTFest 2013 dates.

Unless there are major objections, we're going w/ Sep 19-21st.

BTW - Benjamin sez the video guys are putting the final touches on our promo vid (w/ footage from last year). We'll slate the dates into the vid and release that ASAP.

There is also a possiblity of adding a "fun day" on Sep 18th (@Wombert is going to look into that).

So, let's start cranking things up - we have almost exactly six months before RESTFest 2013!

Awesome guys.  I do regret missing out, but if you've got a day scheduled for fun and a bit of budget to blow, I highly recommend the BMW Performance Track... or else at least hanging downtown and eating food.  We're good at that here.  : )

Are there many that are involved w/ and/or attending REST Fest that also want to take part in Nordic APIs because that's currently slated for September 18 - 19.

Thanks for raising this. I'd love to know that as well. Looks like Kin, for one, won't make it to REST Fest:

Sadly, we only had a couple weekends to choose from and as time marches on, we had to make the call.

If there's high demand for another REST Fest, we'd be happy to consider a spring one--if interest is high enough from those who miss this one.

Was there something the week after? On our event cal, we don't have anything ATM for that week. We *might* be able to shift Nordic APIs forward a week if you guys can't budge. Don't want to make Kin and other choose between these events. Let me know what wiggle room you have and if others could chime in about whether or not it's an issue, that would be much appreciated.

I've got a family event I can't miss the following weekend, and I believe Mike had events on the others. It was looking like we'd be running into October--which is more crowded than September conference-wise.

I appreciate the offer to shift the Nordic APIs event--truly honored that you'd consider doing that.

i really wanted to attend NordicAPI in september, but there are also
other events around the same timeframe so we picked this weekend
anyway.

FWIW, i think we'll try a "virtual meetup" w/ them this year during RESTFest.

I'd love to attend both conferences, but my loyalties are clear ;)

There's always collisions, and September (or August) is ideal because come October, conference season is in full swing again and it's much harder to convince Europeans in particular to make the trek.

We should totally gun for some kind of Skype meetup.

It looks like moving REST Fest isn't an option (finding this date was
hard enough, sadly).

So the options seem to be (per your earlier offer):
1. shift the Nordic API dates--completely your call on this Travis
2. setup some Skype "pipe" on the 19th and toast each others good health
across the water. :)

If we do option #2 (technical difficulties not with standing), I'd love
for you or a small group of people to give the REST Fest a quick
overview of what you guys have covered so far. Might help use continue
the excitement you generated and continue to think through whatever
challenges you'd uncovered.

Regardless of all the above, teleportation is long overdue as a travel
option.

Travis, let me know your thoughts on these ideas.

A hand off via Skype sounds like a great way to broaden the community and keep the momentum going. Let's sync up on how to do that as we get closer to game day. Hopefully teleportation will reach widespread adoption by then, making it a moot issue ;-)
