Hi, 

If you're looking for the fastest possible HTTP client REST Assured is most likely not the one. Btw, do you mean performance testing or load testing? For load testing I don't think the HTTP client library will a bottleneck. How ever if you mean load testing why not JMeter or Gatling Tool?

I've been using Gatling and it is a great tool. It's in Scala but has a DSL syntax that is similar to REST assured. Terminology is different but very easy to pick up.
