Betterstay on the P3D version if you like to fly the dog... the MSFS version is def not up to new standards - except the functions which are mostly great again. And that including VAT for 90 eur is just insane. Personal mileage will vary for sure if you can close your eyes on some issues.

I was legit more excited about the mad dog then the other 2 big ones. Love the A/C and the p3d version was great. The launch for MSFS was kinda poor and lacking communication. The sounds are terrible and the cockpit is def not up to par with MSFS standards. Oh and the price is $90 which is madness.

Is Leonardo even active anymore? It's been a few months since we heard anything from them. Even their forums and Facebook page has gone pretty much silent. I loved the Maddog in P3D but under whelmed with the current MSFS2020 product. Kind of wished I would have waited now.

dev promptly responds to tickets and are aware of the texture, etc. feedback from users. i'm sure they'll update the msfs version with efb like they had on the p3d version with navigraph support and upgraded vc textures. maddog is a great plane to fly in the msfs world--so smooth (unlike p3d scenery that looked bad and had horrible frames and stutters). for the price of 4 carenados, the maddog is a bargain.

We are back at work after the summer holidays, and running new beta builds among our testers, there are tons of things to add from the p3d version and fixes to test... and ours is a small team. Rather than make promises and big announcements we prefer to stay focused on the development and give updates when things are done.

Something I already suspected. Say what they want about the Leonardo MD82 and not being vocal in the community. They still have the top 3 most simulated systems (behind Fenix and maybe PMDG) aircraft in total MSFS (they were top tier in FSX/P3D) catalog to date and only the complaints can be is textures and sounds. Textures don't bother me that much the sounds though uggh, without spending money on a extra sound pack. I did not have the P3D version, Im coming from FSX version and it was pretty good there too. I would give them another 6 months before I worry about updates from them other than that the MD82 works fine for me.

During the flight loading screen (when I want to start a flight with the Maddog), MSFS (Store) CTDs after about 2-3 minutes.

(That is the initial loading, I know about the first long loading times, but never got that far. Wasn't able to start one single flight since now)

What makes me really upset, is that there is such a lousy support from Leonardo. Created a support ticket 14 days agao, first answer come after 3 days, since then always several days radio silence.

I am so much dissapointed by them! I bought the plane for 90 euros having in mind all the great memories I had with it in FS2004. Here it came with nearly no communication at all, and now it is the same no com about any future development we should expect when buying such an expensive addon. Hope my 90 euros are well spent by them though ?

I've been VERY surprised at the radio silence from maddog. To the point I've been worried about them. I'm hoping everything is ok there at their team as they have not been acting like they have the last 5 years.

"very few customer had this issue and it was quickly solved with the suggestion I previousy posted. One or two had to reinstall MSFS (so the blame was on some corrupted file of the sim, not of the Maddog)Kind regards,Davide Marras."

I understand your frustration, and the Maddog wasm compilation is sometime very tricky,

ending up with CDT or unfinished results (I can jump into the VC but all is CAD with the 2 animated pilots and the inability to interact with anything)

imo, their reply by email as always been on point. I never had a CTD with the maddog. Every time I fly it , It's a really good experience. I would follow the suggestion from others and completely remove everything and reinstall. Also make sure you don't have Razer Software running or Capture One. If you don't know what it is than don't worry.

The problem appears to occur when the base WASM files are compiled. That is done by MSFS itself the first time an aircraft is loaded, and neither Leonardo nor any other developer using WASM has any control over that process, nor any way to troubleshoot or debug the compiler if it crashes.

Is there any discussion of a 3rd Party sound package addon for the Maddog? The main reason I don't fly it is because the sound is horrible. Based on this Forum, it sounds like the developer is not very active on updating, so I wondered if any 3rd party groups are giving it a go.

They have been super strange lately. Seemed when the plane was less popular, they were constantly updating it. So many new features were rolling out. Then it comes out in MSFS and appeared to sell like hotcakes (based on forum posts), and the developer seems to have gone to sleep. I hope they are ok over there. Because this hasn't been their usual behavior.

Go look at their forum. It was easy to watch during release. Posts went from dozens a day to hundreds and tons of unique users. I never meant for you to infer it was close to the popularity of fenix or pmdg 737. But pretty much hardly any would be expected to be on that level. If it sold on the level of the 146, I suspect most devs would consider that a success in the first place. Some of the maddog paints on flightsim.to have over 2000 downloads.

There is a similar post at the maddog forum as well, wondering what's going on as we haven't heard from them in a while. I heard that they might be busy with real life commitments so hopefully they will be back at some point.

Not sure where you are coming up with the position I stated it was more popular than the 146. But I think both appear to have sold pretty well. I can't sit here and quantify what you find impressive. Nor do I care to. I suspect (Wild Guess) that they sold double or more of the maddog they sold in p3d. Don't forget it was one of the very first high level airliners released. If you somehow expected a jet that is mostly retired and sold less than 1200 in real life to have equal sales to a 737NG/A320 (Over 15k sold) then that's probably a little unfair.

Leonardo is a very small team, I think only 2 main devs, so a real life issue could very well cause such a silence. It has been updated quite regularly, at least in the beginning, so there's that. I'm also quite sure it sold very well, there's a lot of indicators (users on their forums, Simmarket reviews, first study levle aircraft in MSFS) that makes you believe that this has outsold the P3D version already.

well we probably won't agree. We are lacking actual sales numbers. but it appears to me both the maddog and the 146 have done pretty well. I think in real life the MD-80 had a bigger following than the 146 ever did. So that would explain the fans and probably the press. I'm an avgeek so I like them all. Not to mention I saw some pretty heavy press and fans for the 146.

Did you run the installer as administrator by right clicking on it? You may also have to right click the installer and select properties then select the unblock section to the lower right hand side. Be sure you exit MSFS then reboot your computer before installing. You may want to uninstall via Control Panel / Programs and Features, reboot your machine and follow the aforementioned. If all fails then you can try simply moving the folders, lsh-maddogx-aircraft and lsh-maddogx-fx to the community folder directory and running the load manager.

In Documents you should see a folder called Maddog X Files, and in Community you should see two folders called lsh-maddogx-aircraft and lsh-maddogx-fx. So the folder in documents might be right, and the one in the community is sort of hard to find. Can you post more specifics?
