Information & Education on New Clean Energy Regulations

The Commonwealth has established new siting and permitting processes for clean energy infrastructure. These reforms have been promulgated and will go into effect on July 1, 2026. The new regulations will significantly effect the way municipalities review proposals for battery storage and solar development projects.

We highly encourage all conservation commissioners and
municipal staff to attend the following Lunch & Learn series.

From April - September, on the 2nd Wednesday of each month, speakers from the Department of Energy Resources (DOER), the Energy Facilities Siting Board (EFSB), and Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs (EEA) will present important information on the new clean energy siting and permitting processes. Each session will be recorded and posted on MACC's website.
