You Can Save Sharks – the power is at your finger tips... but we only
have a few days

Sharks are under attack. Even international protection is not enough
to prevent illegal slaughter. These magnificent predators are
sentenced to a slow and cruel death by a barbaric fishery called
finning. The sharks (and countless other non-target species) are
hooked on long lines and dragged on board. The shark’s fins are hacked
off the still living animals before their helpless bodies are dumped
into the sea to die and slow and painful death. The killing is
unsustainable and unacceptable.

A project designed to stop poaching through education is currently
being considered for an American Express grant. This funding would
safeguard sharks and other wildlife by educating and empowering local
people through the power of media.

The public will decide if this project is to be funded. The power is
in your hands. A click of your mouse will not cost you a dime, but
could mean poaching cessation at a world heritage site.

This program needs funds to turn the tide. Sharks have been around for
millions of years, in just a few short decades we have come close to
loosing them, and so much more of the planets amazing diversity.
