A  TOTAL  ban on finning is what could make a difference - anything else won't work.

'Educating' the Chinese and other Asians who consume shark fin soup will work once the sharks, and hence their fins, are gone.

Every shark fin consumer in China and elsewhere  KNOWS  exactly what is at stake (shark fin eaters are middle class, relatively affluent professionals, people who are connected to the world  -  best example: Mr. Jack Ma, CEO of Alibaba)  -   they just don't seem to give a damn about the environment as long as they can worship their stomachs...

Shark finning needs to be banned GLOBALLY, and it needs to be banned now!!!
