RS v10.7 Private Collections search wildcard?

So, the way that we're using RS currently is that, each time we get a set of photos from a particular event, those photos get uploaded as their own collection...with "YYYYMMDD" at the beginning of the collection name so that if anyone needs to see all of the photos from a particular event, they can easily do so. This also makes it so that just that collection can be shared outside of our RS users (say, if an academic department here wants to see photos from one of their awards events or whatever).

Which is all well and good...it works for our purposes exactly as we need it to.

Fast-forward, however, to several years of doing this, and there are some older collections that we want to purge from the system (which we can do by deleting the original files, so that their previews and metadata and whatnot are kept in the system, but the part that takes up the most filespace goes away...we have all of our photos backed up on multiple USB drives.

So today I was looking through our 83-page Collections list and noticed that, when I do a search on there for, say, "2017", it only returns the collections that have "2017" as a standalone word in their names...not any of the YYYYMMDD ones. So I tried doing the standard "add * to the end to make it a wildcard search" and it basically just spit out all collection names...all 83 pages of them. I tried a few things and could not get it to search for anything other than "standalone '2017'" collection names. Am I missing something? Maybe there's a config setting that can change this behavior or something? Because it makes it really hard to try to find 49 collections that have "2017" in their names (which is what phpMyAdmin lets me do as a wildcard search)

So, any way of doing wildcard searches on collection names within RS? I just figured out how to accomplish what I want via phpMyAdmin and a RegEx search, but there will be a whole lot of manual work finding the collections and exporting their resources' ResourceIDs and whatnot.

Far better would be if I could do a collection search for, say, "2017", and have it come back with a list of all collections with "2017" in their titles...whether standalone or 2017MMDD, as mentioned above...

Found a bug (I think?)...on the "Manage my collections" page (the list of collections), there is a table with several columns, including: "Collection Name", "Owner", "ID", "Created", "Items", and "Access" (and a few others that, for the sake of this problem, are irrelevant).

For the most part, clicking a column's header sorts the table by that column, and clicking it again toggles the sort order from forward to reverse, as one would expect.

However, a couple of those columns don't appear to actually sort the table (even though they have sort direction arrows and are clickable and whatnot: "Owner" and "Items". I recently encountered a bunch of collections that contained no resources and so can be deleted. I thought to myself "no problem...I can just go to the Manage My Collections page and sort that table by Items and toggle the sort direction so that the collections with 0 items are at the top of the list, then I can use the checkboxes at the left to select the 0-item collections and then use the little trash can icon that appears above the table when you do that to delete those empty collections in bulk...but that "Items" column is one of the two that don't affect the sort order of the table (even though, for all intents and purposes, it looks like the sorting is happening, because it has sort direction arrows and everything).

So, I have a bunch of empty collections and no good way to get at them (I have 84 pages of collections in the list)

Did I find a bug? Is "Items" (and "Owner") supposed to sort the collections table but isn't working properly?

This seems like a bug yes, the page is dependant on the get_user_collections functions, which has its own filter on which colums it allows to sort/order by, so if the parameter isn't one of those the sort function on Manage my collections won't work as expected

I tested it by adding "count" to the list, it sorts fine by item count now, so Montala needs to update/fix the code. (You can do that yourself of course if you feel comfortable doing so)

I'm not much of a programmer, so I'll just wait until Montala fixes it. It's probably been a bug for quite some time now and I just never noticed until yesterday :P
