Hello,

I have succeeded in installing Bitnami's VirtualBox, Guest Additions, and their .OVA Virtual Machine loaded with ResourceSpace 9.7

I have the system up and running and connecting to our Synology NAS. I can log in to our RS site as a Superadmin and so on.

I uploaded the MariaDB backup to PHPMyAdmin in a new database and updated the provided config.php with the $mysql_db name and $mysql_username = 'root' and Bitnami's root user password. I have entered the Spider and Scramble keys from the imported database.

I followed what I believe are RS guidelines to mount the NAS drive with www-data as the user and www-data as the group, along with rw permissions. The filestore directory is symlinked to the mounted NAS.

I set ownership of the resourcespace directory and files to www-data:www-data.com and changed file/folder permissions to 777.

Installation check shows: RS version 9.7, PHP Version 7.4.27, MySQL version 5.5.5-10.3.32-MariaDB, and all are marked OK, included Write to filestore, (except the slideshow which seems to be from somewhere else).

My error: all resources are marked Offline resource. I cannot view or edit any of them.

Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks,

By the way, the Installation Check on the Linux system I am exiting from shows:
RS version: SVN /releases/9.7
PHP Version 7.4.27
MySQL Version 8.0.28-Oubuntu0.20.04.3

And the new host server is an Intel Mac Mini with OS Montery.

Hello,

The Bitnami engineer made the following comment about my permission changes:

"Please note that we do not use the www-data user or group. Apache uses the daemon user/group to access the files so you can mount those files using bitnami:daemon and 775 for directories and 664 for files."

I will make these changes, but they were set that way before and I still had the Offline Resource problem.

Bitnami does not feel they can help me further on this issue:

"I do not know why the app is failing there because it should have read/write permissions (you used 777). Please wait for the app’s developers to provide you with a solution for that."

I'm hoping the Community for ResourceSpace are able to help me develop a troubleshooting plan to resolve this error.

Hello - I finally located a folder that is the top-level folder containing the ResourceSpace data on the Synology NAS. I had mistakenly configured the Symlink to Filestore from just the NAS Share itself. It needed to go one directory deeper into that top-level folder.

Now it works!
