Error after installing

Hello,
I am using MAMP as a web site local manager on Mac osX 10.10.
After a fresh install i got this as an error.
/Applications/MAMP/htdocs/ResourceSpace/include/db.php line 90: mysqli_connect(): (HY000/2002): Connection refused
Redid a new config file and still the same thing
Tried an other CMS didn't get any errors with the DB.
Need help and advice.

Are you using MAMP's mysql?
If you use the credentials in the ResourceSpace config file for MySQL (via command line, phpmyadmin, or similar) are you able to connect to mysql?

Got it going,
Did a few tweeks in the PHP config (file size limits) and replaced mysql DB with a new fresh one, that did the trick!

And you I can acces th mysql with the creds in the config file.
