I use RS Version 6.2.5428 and i have issues with wrong rotated original pictures and previews (and videos).
After upload jpg pictures and mp4 videos from mobile sources like iphone and android mobile phones nearly all image and videos has the wrong rotation (flipped by +-90/180 degrees).
I uploaded through the web via plupload (but java uploader and import from upload directory does also not work and produce same result).

Environment:
  • PHP Version 5.3.10-1ubuntu3.11
  • EXIF Version 1.4 $Id: exif.c 321634 2012-01-01 13:15:04Z felipe $
  • ImageMagick 6.6.9-7 2014-03-06 Q16 and GD 2.0

Seems the camera metadata is not interpreted correctly?

Thanks
Hendrik

Was the autorotate option checked off during the upload?  Had the images in question been previously rotated using another tool?

seems autorotation is disabled by default

$camera_autorotation = false;

$camera_autorotation_checked = true;

$camera_autorotation_ext = array('jpg','jpeg','tif','tiff','png','dng'); // only try to autorotate these formats

$camera_autorotation_gm = false;

Can you explain what autorotation_checked and autorotation_gm is goof for?
Does this also work for mp4 or other video formats?

Thanks
Hendrik
