Watermark - not displaying?

Watermark steps from the Wiki (and other posts in this Group)

1. ImageMagick must be installed.

DONE

2. Add the following to your config.php:

$watermark="gfx/watermark.png";

This will use the default watermark of 'ResourceSpace'. You can use your own and alter the above line to point to it. It should be a PNG file, suitably transparent so that your photo is visible underneath.The following guidelines show how to enable watermarks.

3.Watermarks are only created when the line above exists in your config.php.

DONE - can confirm they are created, as have seen the files in the filestore.

4. Set Team Centre->System Setup->Download/Preview Sizes->Screen to "Allow Restricted Download" (to allow download of screen sized watermarks)

?? New RS System Setup may not have this feature? I couldn't see it anywhere

5. run pages/tools/update_previews.php?previewbased=true to create watermarks

You should recreate previews of all resources if you are enabling watermarks and there are already resources in your system.

6.

User Groups need the 'w' permission to see watermarks.
DONE

7. Resources you want watermarked must be Restricted to the group
DONE

8.

Admins don't see watermarks, so test the General User's view

DONE

But cannot see watermark on the preview.

With the updated team center/system setup area the new location should be...

Team Center -> System -> Manage Sizes; then click "Edit" for screen and check "Allow restricted download"

To see what's causing issues, I'd set $debug_log=true and recreate previews for one resource. You can then search the debug log for "create_previews" and see if there are any error messages.

I have now set:

Team Center -> System -> Manage Sizes; then click "Edit" for screen and check "Allow restricted download"

The Debug log is running. Searching for "create_previews" shows me that the previews are being created (which I knew because the files are in the filestore with the watermark on them).

The issue is that when logged on as a user, who is not an Admin, but IS a member of a group with "w" permission, my assumption was that the preview would show the watermark. That is the step that is not working.

First, set this in the config override for your non-admin group: $watermark_open=true;    This will turn on watermarks for open resources as well as restricted, so all resources shown should have a watermark. Do watermarks show now?

Also, if you use your browser to inspect a preview image does the img src path have "_wm_" in it? If it does, you may need to tweak your custom watermark. It used to be that a smaller watermark worked better because it would always show, but if the watermark was larger than the preview size being generated it might not even show up.

If the preview image doesn't have "_wm_" in the path, please post the permissions for the group.

Can anyone tell me, how can i make users to download only images with watermark?

I need current process like user requests for resource, after admin approves request then user can download it. I need this and after admin approves request, user still should be able to download only watermarked image not original image.
