G'day,

Does anyone know what the numbers in the $geolocation_default_bounds config.php file mean?

The default is

$geolocation_default_bounds="-3.058839178216e-9,2690583.3951564,2";

and the config file has the example of Utah as:

$geolocation_default_bounds="-12328577.96607,4828961.5663655,6";

I've done some searching but can't find out what these numbers mean (apart from assuming the third one is zoom level).

Thanks,

Warwick

Sorry, I just realised this is a near-duplicate of Juergen's recent question… Still interested if anyone knows the answer…

There's a little something off here...

When setting coordinates for a resource you're presented with the longitude and latitude of the pin marker.

However, these settings can't be used as default bounds. Default bounds need to be from Lat/Long to Spherical Mercator Projection.

I can't seem to find a good online conversion tool for this, but maybe someone else knows of one?

Here is one: http://mal2.ch/stuff/latlontomercator.html

However, it's still not working for me. No matter what I type, I end up at the west coast of Africa.

Kind regards,

Juergen

When I use this tool the center position of the geolocation map does change, but while this converter converts to some variation of Mercator, it doesn't appear to be the correct one.

I used this converter at https://epsg.io/transform#s_srs=4326&t_srs=3857

After entering the values in config.php, you need to clear your browser cache. Otherwise, the change will not take effect.
