Hello,

Forgive me if I'm being stupid. I'm just playing around in a test environment and I've uploaded a decent amount of test assets to ResourceSpace. I've been trying to filter by resource type inside of a collection - for instance, if I want to look at just images inside a collection, or just documents. I'm able to filter by resource type, but it shows me all resources of that type rather than resources of that type inside of a collection. I've tried to find a way to do this, but it seems I'm unable to unless I use the ! collection <id> search term. It seems like this should be something I'm able to do intiutively, so I wanted to check if there was a way without typing the ! collection syntax. Is there?

Thanks!

Tom

Tom, forgive me if I misunderstand your aim.

Within a collection you can sort by type:

While that’s not filtering as I understand it, it accomplishes nearly the same thing.

Hi Jim,

Yes I can sort by type, but in a large collection of say 1000 assets with multiple types, it doesn't really do the same as a filter which would allow only resources of a given type to be shown. It seems that it's possible to filter really effectively outside of collections but really difficult to do so inside of collections. It's not the end of the world but I intend to have a few collections that help to guide people to certain kinds of assets, and it would be really helpful to be able to search within those collections and apply filters, but it doesn't seem possible to do that currently. Let me know if I'm wrong!

Best,

Tom
