Importing a Category Tree parent and child values to populate the Category Tree Field

Hello,

I cannot for the life of me figure out how to import values to populate a category tree field.

I finally figured out the clunky way you have to manually manage them in a tedious fashion.  There is an import mechanism but no discussion anywhere to be found about how to use the import feature and what the exact syntax is for parent and child values in some kind of CSV or TXT file.  This should be simple and perhaps I am just missing it.

I tried to manually create the category tree so I could export it to see what the syntax is but that export feature is useless as it does not export the parent and child structure at all.

Please advise as I have way too many categories to do this manually.
