Two questions here.
1. Anyone know of a graphics library, besides ImageMagick, that works
with PSD files?
2. Any idea how hard it would be to swap in a different graphics
library?

98% of our artwork is in PSD format so this is critical for me.

Thanks again,

Out of interest why not ImageMagick?

It is open source and can handle a lot more types that GD. If you need
to move beyond JPEG, GIF and PNG and still stay open source then AFAIK
it's your only choice.

I don't think it would be a massive job to move to another library,
all the image processing functions are in "image_processing.php" which
is quite a small file.

Because we're already looking at it. I just wanted to know if there
were any others out there. Part of my job is evaluating the different
options.

Just a followup. I've been trying to get MagicWand (PHP api for
ImageMagick) to work and have run into issues. MagicWand coughs up a
hairball if you try to work with a PSD file that has layers. I'll
followup if we figure out a solution.

Another follow up. Since InstantMagick isn't working I'm trying
something different. Found a guy (http://www.kingsquare.nl/
phppsdreader) who wrote a PHP class for converting PSDs to JPGs. Now
I'm trying to integrate it into RS. I'm seeing a *pre.jpg and
*thm.jpg being created in the filestore but their still not displaying
in the app. More debugging to do. :)

Very interesting. Adding PSD support to the ResourceSpace base would
be great. Let me know how you get on.

By the way what licence is the phppsdreader class released under?
