I am organizing resources into public collections, then entering
related keywords on the collections, but those keywords do not produce
results in the search. The collection titles also don't come up in the
search. Can someone tell me what the collection related keywords are
used for? and if there is a way to get search results using collection
keywords or titles? I have the search_includes_public_collections set
to true in my config file.

Thanks!

Hi,

Did you ever figure this out? I am also wondering what collection related keywords are used for?

Thanks
Liz

I was also wondering about related keywords, so I hit up the Chat support on resourcespace.org. Here's my chat, hope this helps someone else.  I would think that search_includes_public_collections would allow related keywords to work here.

Me:What are Related Keywords in collections and how are they used? I've looked in the documentation and on the google group and can't find this explained anywhere

Resourcespace: It is a slightly odd one.. There is a configuration option that allows you to search through either your private or public collections.  The related keywords give the collection metadata, where it typically does not have any.  So you could add a country or project to a specific public collection

Me:ok, that makes sense. do you know what the config option is? the only mention i see of related keywords in config.default.php is actually related to "wildcard_always_applied" function

Stuart: No, you'll be looking for a configuration to search by collection.  Off the top of my head, no - Sorry

These settings should help (defaults shown):

# When searching, also include themes/public collections at the top?
$search_includes_themes=false;
$search_includes_public_collections=false;
$search_includes_user_collections=false;

# include keywords from collection titles when indexing collections
$index_collection_titles true;
$index_collection_creator true;

You'll also have to reindex collections when making these changes. Run ../pages/tools/reindex_collections.php to do this.
