Vimeo Video Plugin and Thumbnail Previews

Hello all,

I am using the VM2RS plugin and it works well except that I cannot figure out how to have the plugin, or RS automatically generate preview images for the video resources. Without preview images, it is very difficult to do anything efficiently. (ie, it is easier and better to just go to Vimeo directly).  Can any of you help with how to do this?  The Knowledge Base article for VM2RS does not help, it is not clear and the second paragraph is a run-on sentence that I cannot interpret clearly.  

I created the Vimeo resources by importing a CSV file with the URL's and Titles, then I exported a CSV, edited it by adding some metadata fields similar to my still image resources and importing the resultant CSV file to edit the now existing resources further.  No thumbnails were generated at any step.

Also, I found "Edit Preview Images" in the Edit Metadata popup from the Vimeo Video resource and found "Retry Preview Creation" in that menu item. When I select it to see if this creates a preview for my video, it generates a useless error popup box. It says "Error" and "OK" with no error code or text of any kind.  I know that I can manually upload/select images to act as the previews, but this is tedious and not really an option for me.
