Mission Advancement Colleagues,

Julie Aageson retires at the end of this month after 13 years as the Coordinator for ELCA Resource Centers.  She has been a critical link between ELCA Resource Centers and the ELCA churchwide organization, proving oversight, guidance and support to this network.  ELCA Resource Centers help communicate and promote many of the resources that are developed by the churchwide organization and other parts of the church.  Because they are there, ELCA members and congregational and synodical leaders are assisted in having excellent resources to support them in their work.

Included below is a message from Julie to staff.

Please join me in wishing Julie well in retirement and thanking her for being a gracious, gifted and faithful partner in ministry.

Peace,

Christina

On behalf of ELCA Resource Centers, I want to thank all of the Mission Advancement staff and all who previously were part of Communication Services.  You have been a base of support for the work of resource ministry since the early days of the ELCA.   As I prepare to leave my position as Coordinator of ELCA Resource Centers, I want you to know that the partnerships we share with one another are valued more than words can say.  Building up the Body of Christ has been the mission statement of the Association of Lutheran Resource Centers since its inception in 1996.  There was never a moment in the history of resource ministry when we weren't clearly conscious of what it means to be the Body of Christ--and each of you is part of that body.

I've served in this CW position for 13 years and in synodical ministry for almost three decades.  It truly has been a privilege and a gift to serve the church and to work with both CW and synodical staff.  The network of ELCA Resource Center directors is a gifted group of leaders whose passion for sharing best resources, best practices has never flagged.  I know you will continue to support their work and the many, many ways they advance the mission of the ELCA.

Warmly, Julie
