Greetings all!

As we begin to get this new ecumenical group off the ground, it would be helpful to hear from those of you who are now connected here.  Paul Edison-Swift has set this up to provide a public forum for conversation and resource sharing.  If you represent your denomination and/or serve on the Alliance board, please would you provide email addresses for your RC directors to Paul who will send individual invitations to join this group.  Go to http://groups.google.com/group/resource-ministry-alliance for more information about the intent of the public group.

This is not to replace denominational egroups.  Our hope is that it will serve as a “sharing place” and a way for us to connect ecumenically.  Paul’s work is technical support.  Our work is to provide grist for discussion and support of RC ministry around the church.  Events you’d like to share?  Resource information for a particular need, i.e. the new Haiti resources for children and adults from LeaderResources?  Invitations to collaborate on conference calls/webinars?  Connections with publishers?  Planning a grassroots ERCG event?  This is the place!

I look forward to seeing our shared work here.  Julie Aageson

Julie,
MIght this site replace our ALRC group on Ecunet? That way we could go
to just one place, rather than several?

Thanks for your note Greg. I know that Julie is traveling right now and may not be able to reply right away.

Please note the first line in her second paragraph below ("This is not to replace denominational egroups.")  I think one concern is that the traffic on those denomination-specific groups may be too much to bear in this ecumenical setting.

I think the intent is that this Resource Ministry Alliance e-group focus on resource offerings, events, training opportunities that are intentionally *ecumenical*.  It could also be a place to ask for resource leads after you have exhausted denominational sources.

We can discuss this more "offline," but I hope this note underscores the intent of this ecumenical group.

Warm regards,  Paul Edison-Swift
