Hello to all,

Today’s conference call with Augsburg Fortress was really good, went really fast, and covered lots of territory.  To learn more about these fantastic resources, you can take a webinar at https://augsburgfortress.webex.com/mw0307l/mywebex/default.do?siteurl=augsburgfortress

Kay Neubauer introduced Zachary Taylor, specialist for the worship and music resources. And since he also is a church musician, has totally used and knows these resources.  His email is Zachary...@augsburgfortress.org

If you would like passwords for Sundays and Seasons (or you forgot yours) and for Prelude Music Planner for preview purposes, please write Kay at Kay.Ne...@augsburgfortress.org

“Sundays and Seasons”  -- An overview

1.       S and S is a resource that contains an aggregation of content that planners can easily gather and bring together to format for bulletins.

2.       We quickly took a look at the layout using the tabs

a.       NRSV Bible – a lot like Gateway.net, but also has a reverse lectionary look-up

b.      Library—a whole host of books. If you open ELW, you also get Occasional Services Sourcebook and Pastoral Care; also in the library are children’s resources ready to download.

c.       Hymns and Songs—any number of hymnals, ways to look up hymns and ways to download them. There’s even some in Braille!

d.      Planner—If you click on the Day Texts in the calendar, you get the “most requested” service elements already in bulletin form. You can also build your own.

3.       With Sundays and Seasons, worship teams including musicians, worship planners and pastors can collaborate easily.

“Prelude” –an overview

4.       Prelude is mostly for music planners and musicians. They can discover new music, browse and download materials

5.       Publishers that can be found here are GIA, Choristers’ Guild, Morning Star which owns Schirmer, Hope and others.

6.       Makes it possible for all music leaders in a parish to access planning online

7.       Prelude Blog contains hints and encouragement from other musicians

8.       Can create a music plan, organize music in personal and church music library, easily organize service music and have a record all in one place.

9.       $99/year and comes with 125 points to purchase music. You can purchase additional points + 20% discount for AF music.

Comparing Sundays and Seasons and Prelude:

Sundays and Seasons is used to build bulletins and collaborate with pastors, musicians, and worship planners

                Prelude is for musicians.

Those present on the call were Kay Neubauer, Zachary Taylor, David Anslett (marketing for AF), Karen Harthan, Eliza Alvarez (ELCA), Karen Mathias-Long, Beth Caywood, and Greg Kaufmann.

Thanks, everyone!
