Loving and Gracious God,
Our lips bless your holy name!
Our hearts bless your holy name!
Our minds bless your holy name!
Our souls bless your holy name!
With hearts and eyes not lifted up nor raised too high, help us not to occupy ourselves with things too great and too marvelous for us but to keep to that which you require of us in compassion and love. Help us to calm and quiet our souls, like weaned children who grow and deepen our relationship with you and with each other.
As we journey on the via dolorosa towards Your cross and unto glorious resurrection Sunday, we bless your holy name and acknowledge that we need to be transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit into an Easter people who have Wonderful Words of Life to offer a lonely, anxious and hurting world.
We humbly ask that you bless all who will participate in the upcoming Futuring Consultation. Bless us with renewed efforts, vision and compassion. Bless us with a new song to sing and new eyes to see the fullness of your glory, for you must increase and we must decrease. Amen.
Question to ponder: What will it take for all of us to claim the words of Isaiah as our own?
“The Lord God has given me the tongue of a teacher, that I may know how to sustain the weary with a word. Morning by morning he wakes me—wakens my ear to listen as those who are taught. The Lord God has opened my ear, and I was not rebellious, I did not turn backward.”
