RPT still doesn't work

I'm trying to contact a new system. I can monitor it fine. But when I try RPT, it fails on the Authenticating step. It actually goes green on establishing connection, yellow on authenticating, then red on establishing connection, and back to gray on Authenticating.

Is anyone successfully using the RPT tool with a Resol MX (2.02) after the big change in the DL2 public address? It would at least communicate prior to that I could (read, reprogram, and write, but not save at that time). Now I can't even make connection.

Any ideas?

thanks
Tom

Hi Tom : I am a newbie in the group.  I will say that on my 1.9 RPT I am able to access the .io URL's using the 'same old' password.  Make sure that your connections are set to LAN/vbus.  I've tested connecting with several other settings: BS Plus and BS2.   I'd be interested in learning more about how to use the vbus API, as right now I'm using most things through vbus.net

UPDATE: Resol told me that the Wagner Sungo II US (BS 2009 device) is NOT supported in RPT - that we have to use RSC, which I think is an "onsite" tool only!

Thanks for alerting me to the new version 1.9 actually works. I've been trying to get RPT to work for over 2 years, and had literally given up on it. No word from Resol, so folks have to help each other. Thank you! As for your BS 2009 - I have used RSC for years to configure remotely. It does work, with a few quirks.

Thanks Tom, It's actually a Wagner Sungo US II - do you recall which setting (from the dropdown in RPT) you chose that worked?  Resol told me Wagner was out of business and that they only support RSC (on site, right?) with this controller...Bah humbug!  Since I own a SHW system myself, I've tried out most of the plausible dropdown options and then downloaded the controller's data, made changes and uploaded the changes, usually to find that I have to manually reprogram the controller in person...So I don't trust it for another person's system that I might be working with yet.

I know its an old thread but it still comes up in searches so thought I'd leave this info here.

This is for DL2 & CS4 and using the Resol RPT 1.11

From your browser window using the device URL  https://yourtag.vbus.io  -  (you will get this from My Device > Edit Device in Vbus.net)

network RPT config 1.PNG
  • open 'Device config' > 'Remote Access' > 'change password'
now this is the bit you won't see anywhere other than a vague ref in the SERVICE CENTRE software manual......

Despite what ever you have set your device login password and user name to, the default for network access is un: admin & pw: vbus

Either use 'vbus' in the RPT software or change it to the same as your device login for simplicity.

Hope it helps someone one day ;-)
