Hi!

Is it possible to set the wanted temperature value of hot water over VBUS?

Is it possible to read/write the complete config of a "Regtronic RQ-B"? (something like backup)

Thanks!

Hi!

Well, in theory it should be possible to set the value of the VBus, because every value presented inside the controller's menu should be. All you would need is to set that value using VBus protocol version 2.0 (see http://danielwippermann.github.io/resol-vbus/vbus-specification.html#protocol-version-2.0 for references) and the index of the value.

And the value's index is the problem here. RESOL themselves offer the lists of parameter values for many controllers in their Windows-based RPT software. But (although a quick Google search reveals mentions of an Oventrop RPT) I was not able to find a publicly available download link for the Oventrop RPT to look for a list of parameters in there. And without the value index you don't know which values the controller supports and what they mean.

Sorry to not being able to help more.

Best regards,
 Daniel

Isn't it possible to read every ID in a loop to see, which ID has what function? (setting one by one value per menu and look again)

I.e. i will set TWW-target value to 40°C and read out all IDs. After that i will set it to 60°C. Can't i see, what ID is used for that value?

Can it be dangerous to read addresses/IDs, that aren't defined/allowed? There will be only a NACK or can it destroy/brick the hardware?

Hi!

yes, it it possible to read probe every possible value index ranging from 1 to 32767. Changing values in between runs would help you narrowing it down.

You will not get a NACK for unsupported / unimplemented / restricted value indices, the device will simply not answer at all.

I have not yet been able to brick a device simply by reading from it, but that does not mean that this might somehow be possible.
