i love all total war, butin each total war there is a big bunch of bugs which are patched or not after the release but in napoleon all previous problems in other total war seems very little in comparison. here you have graphics bugs, sound bugs, troups behaviour bugs, land positioning bugs, campaign map bugs and further more : command aren't clear and a lot of informations that will be usefull isn't displayed , and all appear together some times, useless to say that it was not playable.
What a shame to release a game not even yet finished and tested, i've bought all total war but i don't think i'll buy the next one when he'll go to store, i think waiting a year will be good.

Hello, just asking here. whats the newest version of NTW? I went out of the game a somewhere after a few months after release and was thinking to hop back in. I just want to find the changelog of the newest update. thats all.

The Great War mod is a total conversion modification for Napoleon: Total War. It aims to create an authentic representation of World War 1-era tactics, strategies and general warfare within the game. Watch as waves of battalions advance under the cover of massed artillery barrages and deadly poison gas, or stay and play it safe hidden behind their defenses. Machineguns will brutally mow down uncareful attackers and defenses are manned by thousands of troops, armed with rapid breech-loaded rifles. SMG Infantry, Flamethrowers, Snipers and Elite Stormtroopers are a few among the many units that attempt to break the stalemate, while the sheer industrial output of all nations in the conflict - and the density of forces along most fronts - ensure that advances are measured in metres, not in the grand distances of earlier days. Commanders must learn to control massive battles, where audacity and wit must overcome seemingly impossible odds.
Dreadnoughts rule the waves in the grand collisions between the world's mightiest navies, while cruisers and destroyers launch raids on ports and merchant shipping, gradually forcing nations into starvation and resource shortages. Battles are carried out at long ranges, with the biggest metal titans bolstering an impressive and unprecedented firepower.
The artillery barrages, huge explosions, clouds of dense poisonous gas and the sheer scale of battles help create a feeling of awe and truly exposes the capabilities and wonders of the 'Total War 3' engine. Watch battalions evaporate under withering shelling, melt away in poison gas or be turned into piles of corpses in front of enemy positions in the mods enthralling land battles.
Rule at the head of any of the many countries that watched Europe become engulfed in war, lead your nation however you want in a free sandbox campaign that set you off at the start of the war.
The Greatest war the world has ever seen is about to begin, it's time for you to take your place in it.

I believe that everyone with a 12th gen intel cpu understands that SEGA haven't fixed napoleon being unable to launch on steam. I personally contacted SEGA twice both times I felt I was playing tennis with the worst customer service experience I have ever seen. Normal convo would go: "hello I noticed I was unable to launch Napoleon total war with my 12th gen cpu is their a fix for this issue ? which they responded with "the developers are aware of this issue" but that's it didn't provide me when the situation would be fixed. It's really annoying when the devs are aware of this problem but refuse to either refund the product or remove it from the steam store, hell at least find a fix? there are some in the community that found a similar problem to SEGA's other titles like SMITE and it worked (linked it)

If anyone has any fixes or any news please feel free to leave a message. Also I want to add I also owned and played empire total war and it worked fine I have no clue why Napoleon is the only title that fails, that and three kingdoms though who plays three kingdoms anyways

It is 1792 and France is in total chaos from three years of revolution and war. Threatened with foreign invasion from the reactionary monarchies of Europe and Royalist insurgency at home, the new French Republic needed a new hero to lift them from the chaos. That man was a five foot two artillery officer named Napoleon Bonaparte from the little Mediterranean island of Corsica.

Less than a year after the release of Empire Total War, the largest installment of the Total War series, Sega went a step further and released Napoleon Total War in late February 2010. Although smaller in scope and scale from its Empire counterpart, Napoleon offers a unique Total War experience that is characteristic of all subsequent installments, as expected by fans of the genre.

Worse, a lot of people who bought Empire ended up waiting for a heroic patching that took seven months to arrive, though Creative Assembly did manage to release their Elite Units of the West paid DLC in the interim. Anything else? Well, CA originally blamed the delay in Empire's release on implementing the framework for full campaign multiplayer, something that's only recently taken the form of a one-versus-one beta release.

Released in 2010, Napoleon: Total War was a spiritual successor of the much beloved Empire: Total War. The game's unique mechanics, time period, and replay-ability, are some of the primary reasons why 12 years later, the game still averages 1,100 concurrent players on Steam. To this day, many overhaul mods are still being created & released, and a small but extremely active community and player base still revel in the fun this game has provided us for over a decade now.

As for Intel, its 12th gen CPU's are hallmark to many high end PC builds, and will only continue to become more common in modern PC builds as its initial release price begins to drop.

Pcworld.com went as far as to state: "Intel's 12th-Gen Core i9-12900K and its hybrid designs put intel back on top in desktop CPU's." -gen-core-i9-12900k-review-intel-is-back.html

Unfortunately, what many long-time Napoleon Total War players quickly found out after upgrading their CPU; is that Napoleon Total War will not run with 12th Gen CPU's at all. Many players on NTW's steam page's community section note that after upgrading to 12th Gen Intel CPU's; their game will either not launch at all, completely close, or suffer a wide myriad of any other issues; rendering them completely unable to play the game in any capacity.

SEGA has acknowledged the are aware of the issue according to several community members, but since Intel's 12th Gen CPU release in February of 2022 (7 months ago at the time of this post), there has been no patch, nor news release from SEGA announcing an attempt to fix this issue.

As of September 5th, 2022, Napoleon Total War is still available on SEGA's website, as well as on Steam. Many players that are unaware of this issue are still purchasing Napoleon Total War ($24.99 on Steam), and SEGA has made no attempt/announcement to forewarn players of the games incompatibility with 12th Gen CPU's.

Many Napoleon Total War players are also fans of the greater total war series, or of SEGA as a whole; and know that SEGA has shown in the past their willingness to cater towards their fan's requests and quickly resolve major bugs and other issues. The recent release of Immortal Empires on Warhammer 3 is just one example of the lengths SEGA will go to in order to help make their games the best possible, while also continuing to keep their fanbase happy.

By signing this petition, you are asking SEGA to kindly work towards fixing Napoleon Total War's compatibility issue with Intel's 12th Gen CPU's. At the very least, we would like an public announcement from SEGA formally acknowledging the issue and an attempt to fix it within a reasonable amount of time.

By signing this petition, you are in accordance with the following requests towards SEGA and Creative Assembly:

1. SEGA and Creative Assembly develop and release a patch for Napoleon Total War, in a timely manner, in order for the game to become compatible with 12th Gen Intel CPUs.

The Total War series is very highly regarded at bit-tech and Empire: Total War, the next game in the series, is just a few months away from release. We visited The Creative Assembly earlier this month to see how the game is shaping up. Read on to find out what we thought...

Napoleon: Total War (abbreviated as NTW) is a turn-based strategy and real-time tacticsreal-time strategy video game developed by The Creative Assembly (CA) and published by Sega for the PC. Napoleon was released in North America on February 23, 2010, and in Europe on February 26. The game is the sixth stand-alone installment in the Total War series. The game is set in Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East during the late 18th and early 19th centuries. Players assume the role of Napoleon Bonaparte, or one of his major rivals, on a turn-based campaign map and engage in the subsequent battles in real-time. As with its predecessor, Empire: Total War, which included a special United States storyline, Napoleon features two special campaigns that follow the general's early career.

Napoleon was released in four different retail versions: Standard edition, Limited edition, Imperial edition, and the Emperor's edition. All boxed versions include the "Elite Regiment" pack, a collection of five extra units; any edition bought on Steam does not include this unit pack.

SGF celebrates a deal with Gaumont-Metro-Goldwyn (GMG) to release Napoleon across Europe and America. Yet Gance has spent the budget for all six films without reaching the end of his first screenplay, and has already passed his second contracted completion date.

A revised print of the Opéra edition appears in Paris at the Marivaux theatre. A longer edition of Napoleon is prepared for release in provincial France, where it will be trimmed and reordered by exhibitors to fit their local requirements. Meanwhile, SGF ships a 9,600m print (and negative) of Napoleon to MGM for distribution in America.
