QuickShortcutMaker is an app that does exactly what its name suggests: makes shortcuts on your Android smartphone's screen. The main draw is that you can create shortcuts to apps, system processes, and activities within the apps themselves. This means that not only can you create a shortcut to, for example, the Gallery app, but you can also create one to the video editor within your Gallery app.
When you open QuickShortcutMaker, the first thing you'll see is the list of activities. Basically, this list contains all the apps you have installed, as well as a series of activities related to system processes. If you tap on any of the installed apps, you'll see a list of activities for that app. It's important to keep in mind that, while some apps have many activities (such as YouTube, for example), others may only have one.
One of the strengths of QuickShortcutMaker is that it lets you customize your shortcuts as you wish. You can choose both the icon and its name, so you can "mask" them very easily. For example, you can change the icon of your Gallery app to make it look like a video game. You can also make an instant messaging app look like the official YouTube app. The possibilities are basically endless.
QuickShortcutMaker is an app that offers much more than meets the eye. It is incredibly useful for quickly accessing app menus and settings options, or to hide apps you don't want others to find on your Android. Or you can simply use it to add nicer icons.
QuickShortcutMaker works independently from the launcher you have installed. With it, you can create shortcuts to everything you want, including specific actions on an app or shortcuts to a certain part of your device's settings.

I'm loving my Galaxy S10+ and I'm really liking the Samsung One UI. In fact, this is there first phone in which I haven't immediately switched to Nova launcher! However, I can't stand how the phone is putting frames around all of my icons - even on the icons of the non-Samsung apps. Some of them look ridiculous with the frames! Is there a way to turn off the icon frames if third party apps? If so, how???
Hey @pjniez, there is no direct way to do this. What you can do to accomplish this is download a third party app from the Google Play Store called QuickShortcutMaker ( =com.sika524.android.quickshortcut)
@pjniez What's ridiculous is Samsung DID have this feature built in previously. I was able to remove the icon frames under Display in settings on all my previous Samsung devices. I don't know why they'd take that away

I work for samsung and I know that all Samsung devices have Samsung Cloud app built in. Verizon hides Samsung cloud and forces us to use their cloud, which is ridiculous, because there is also google cloud and drop box that give people a lot more free storage. I had to install an app to locate Samsung Cloud and now I have it set up. The app is "quick shortcut maker". I just want to post this in the hope that customers find this post and are aware of the scam. I hope Verizon changes their ways.
I have let all my customers know about Samsung cloud and I always advise customers to disable Verizon cloud. I get plenty of older customers coming in because their devices are advieing them to buy more storage. These are generally cuetomers who live on a fixed income. They come in to best buy stressed out because they fear losing pictures and contacts. I make sure they leave satisfied with google and Samsung cloud. Verizon is shadier than a willow tree at high noon!
I was FORCED to do a factory data reset on my phone, even though the issue is burn-in on the screen, and poor battery life. I was assured by the condescending, misogynistic tech that I wouldn't lose any of my data or photos because I've backed up to the Verizon Cloud AND Google, but I lost everything! Photos of my daughter, and ALL OF MY NOTES!! My daughter has 3 rare, chronic illnesses, and I store all the notes about her treatment, research, specialists, medications, phone numbers, proof of conversations, etc., in my Samsung Notes app so I don't have to carry around pounds of paper paper and binders everywhere.
But, because Mr. I've-Been-A-Tech-For-Years-And-Never-Heard-of-This-Problem didn't believe me, was beyond condescending to the "little lady," and palpably misogynistic towards me, he wouldn't go a single step further until I performed the factory reset! Even his female supervisor defended him!
So, I'm here, with a very expensive phone that has a burned-in screen, poor battery life, and I've lost EVERYTHING THAT WAS IMPORTANT on my phone because I followed the ridiculous rules set out by Verizon tech support.
All I get is "I'm sorry" from Verizon techs, customer service, fraud department, etc., but no one is actually DOING anything to fix the issue!! Will the tech that caused this get written up? Will his supervisor? HA! Not likely!
I hope you requested to speak to his supervisor and expressed to his supervisor all of the complaints you had against that rep. Verizon seems to have a whole lot of bad reps that work there. It's sad. Customer service is even worse with people that will make dirt up as they go because they think we don't know the difference.
One of the things we as customers want to see is Verizon team up with their customers instead of their own pockets and allow the customer to choose what we want to use for cloud storage. I've tried Verizon cloud. It doesn't work. It fails to auto backup at scheduled times and picks and chooses what it wants to backup when it does go to work. The Verizon "premium services" is garbage and not even close to what Samsung offers in the Samsung Cloud. Why does Verizon feel they can pick and choose what services to block? Why is iCloud not blocked from iPhone in favor of the Verizon cloud? As customers of the most expensive wireless provider in the country, I feel we deserve an answer to this. Why can't we have Samsung Cloud?
This is my sentiment exactly!!!!! I factory reset my device knowing I could sign back into Samsung cloud (I had installed the APK). VERIZON BLOCKED ITS INSTALL!!!! I am soooooo angry as just as you have mentioned, Verizon's Premium cloud is so inferior that it is laughable!! With Samsung's cloud, all of my email apps and addresses are installed and functional, my home screens are just the way I left them, heck, I am even signed into the various wi-fi networks I use. Verizon is so rudimentary, I don't even give it a thought to back up anything even though through my plan, I pay for it.
I am going to leave because of this as well. I had been able to install the cloud app because Verizon's clould is elementary at best. I have had to factory reset my phone and THEY PREVENT IT FROM BEING INSTALLED BY APK!!!! I am starting to hate Verizon's greed for I have their clould as well, and as I have said it it total gargage!!!!
