The maps in the printed Map Booklet and online are the only maps of public hunting lands that TPWD provides that indicate the hunting areas and designated roads to which the permit holder has access. Maps purchased from other sources (U.S. Forest Service, COE, etc.) may include private roads that are not included for access by permit holders. Study the maps in closely to avoid trespassing on private property or private roads when accessing, using or leaving public hunting lands. Remember that the public hunting permit authorizes access only to public hunting lands but not to adjacent private property. Ignorance of the law is no excuse or defense should you be charged with trespassing or hunting without landowner permission on private property.
Boundary Markers: Boundaries of most public hunting lands are marked at frequent intervals with signs facing outward and displaying information identifying the property as public hunting lands or a TPWD wildlife management area. If you can see the printed text on the Public Hunting Lands signs or the old Type II boundary signs, you are outside of the Public Hunting Lands. Also, U.S. Forest Service WMA boundaries are identified by yellow metal signs.
In very rare instances, a landowner may choose to withdraw lands from the Public Hunting Lands Program before the end of the permit period. This is permitted by the contract under which TPWD has leased these lands. Should such a withdrawal of lands occur, signs will be posted at all major entrance points announcing that the specific parcel of land is no longer within the Public Hunting Lands Program and public access is no longer authorized.
All persons except qualified persons with disabilities and those assisting persons with disabilities operating an off-highway vehicle on public land must purchase and display an off-highway vehicle decal. Decals are available by phone or fax from TPWD and at local retailers, for a list of dealers and further details go to www.tpwd.texas.gov/ohv. An Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) is defined as an all-terrain vehicle (ATV), off-highway motorcycle, or any other four wheel drive vehicle not registered to be driven on a highway. See DEFINITIONS section.
My neibour feeds squirrels. I now have squirrles in my attic. They chewed all the wires under the fuse box of my car. They destroyed the plastic parts of my lawn mower. some of the wires in my house have been eaten poseing a fire hazzard. I bought a trap and have relocated over 100 squirrels. Its too much. I will now be poisoning squirrels. Whats wrong with you people. These are just RATS but cuter. Desiese infested vermon. In a world where a peanut allergy can kill a child you are letting these things distribute them all over the neibourhood. STOP FEEDING AND ATTRACTING SQUIRRELS before your neibours house burns down or his car dies in traffic. The concquences could be fatale

*Accompanied means: By a person who is at least 17, who is licensed to hunt in Texas, who has passed hunter education or is exempt (born before September 2, 1971), and you must be within normal voice control. Proof of certification or deferral is required to be on your person while hunting.
Sophomore running back Kenny Portera gave Leland a two-score lead in the third quarter with his second short touchdown romp of the night, a 3-yard run. Sobrato, however, rallied and went ahead early in the final period. Fullback Obi Mbonu pushed through for a 1-yard touchdown run on a fourth-and-goal play, and the PAT kick gave the Bulldogs the lead for good.
McMahon finished the game with 237 yards of total offense, 166 passing and 71 rushing on 22 carries. McMahon connected on 11 of his 30 pass attempts, including five to senior Will McCowan for 97 yards and two to sophomore Sean Ahmadi for 31. Pat Appleman gained six yards on two catches.
Juniors Steven Jani and Darnell Sankey led the Bruins defense with 10 tackles apiece. Trevor Cater made six stops and Scott Larson five. Spencer Patel-Ajlouni and Larson each sacked the Moreau quarterback and three Bruins had takeaways. McCowan and Sankey both intercepted passes and senior Adam Sheffield recovered a fumble.
But local landowners, even with their labyrinth of channels, levees and sloughs, could not prevent the encroachment of salty water or the deterioration of constructed levees. In 1931, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) purchased a parcel known as Joice Island, naming it one of California's first wildlife refuges.
The third reason is, the group encountered a base with two Xenos and a Chestburster, the killed one Xeno and two NPCs, and they sacrificed a party member so they could run away. So far so good. So what's next? More Xenos? Something else? I don't care about Alien universe politics, I don't want to run adventures about corporative intrigue, colonial politics... I think you can only play Alien once and later it either becomes reiterative or not-Alien. Oh, and of course nobody wants to play Prometheus or Covenant crap, so Space Jockeys and white Xenomorphs (which are, still, Xenomorphs, excepto they don't have acid blood) are out of the question.
This is FRESH AIR. I'm Terry Gross. Many people have dreamed of leaving the city for the country, to live in a way that would reflect their concerns about the environment. Our next guests, John and Molly Chester, are a couple who did just that; they left their home in Los Angeles and started an organic farm. But they soon learned about the many ways nature can turn against you, no matter how noble your intentions. The Chesters tried to turn a dry and soil-depleted 200-acre parcel into a lush, organic farm. They were determined to tend fruit orchards and raise cows, pigs and chickens in harmony with nature.
DAVIES: You had all kinds of problems with pests helping themselves to the crops that you were raising, including these delicious, you know, fruit trees that you had - among them gophers, which were attracted by the cover soil that you'd put there, which holds nutrients and holds water. And you got a lot of gophers. And they eat the roots of the tree and kill them, right?
Of interest: Due to extremely high densities of common carp, Lake Tomah was treated with Rotenone in 2009, killing the carp and limiting gamefish populations. The lake was re-stocked with northern pike, largemouth bass and bluegill between 2010 and 2012. Since the initial stocking, quality populations of each species have become established and are now naturally reproducing.
Species population information: Northern pike inhabiting the productive waters of Green Bay have a wide variety of forage to grow quickly. It is not uncommon for anglers to report catching fish in the upper 30- to low 40-inch length range. Because the vast size of the bay reduces competition between top predators and because it hosts an abundance of prey fish such as yellow perch, gizzard shad and round gobies, we do not see stunted populations of northern as is commonly seen in many inland lakes. Over the last five years, the catch of northern pike has ranged from 6,000 to 28,000 northern pike, while harvest has ranged from 1,900 to 4,100 northern pike, with two-thirds or more pike released annually despite liberal harvest regulations.
Species population Information: Cox Hollow Lake in Iowa County contains an excellent bluegill fishery. Bluegill dominates the panfish fishery, however, black crappie, green sunfish, pumpkinseed, and yellow perch are also present. Surveys in 2022 yielded a catch rate of 372 bluegills per mile, surpassing the statewide median of 117 fish per mile when compared to other similar lakes. Bluegill ranged from 2.7-9.4 inches with an average length of 7.1 inches.
I need to transform a large section of lawn into vegetables and wildflowers. Using cardboard I understand would help smother the grass, and placing 4-6 inches of compost on top would allow me to plant almost immediately, in my case I could plant wild seeds requiring stratification now, and vegetables next spring, then apply wood chips at least in wildflower areas to keep weeds down. Anecdotal or not it has been proven to work, whether better or not to accomplish the intended purpose or comparative results to soil biology and productivity with and without may be debatable as you point out with no scientific peer reviewed study. I would love to eliminate the cardboard because it is an extra step not easy to accomplish in a large area. Dumping a load of wood chips and raking them out is certainly easier. How thick of wood chips do you think it would take to kill the lawn and make the area ready for planting, and how long would that take? Do you believe the trade off for expediency with a potential risk of setting back the soil biology temporarily (until the cardboard degrades) based on reduced vapor transmission is important enough to not do it? In other words, would the advantages of expediency outweigh the disadvantages of a temporary condition where soil biology may be impacted?
