Dear Friends , Resp Elders and lovely Children ; 

How strange it is to read that there is a steep increase in swimming drowning deaths when the consumption of Ice Creams is at its peak ! The renowned economist - Steven lewitt of Freakonomics fame drew a correlation between sales of Ice cream going up and along with it taking the beach prone accidents to a new high.. the factual connection is however is very simple - people eat ice creams in peak summer - the warmer the weather the higher the consumption of Ice creams, and folks also go to the beach for a swim in summers - the higher the heat the more the swimmers - hence ice cream sales is directly proportional to drowning deaths !!

If we had similar economists in India may be we would have understood why - more the Diwali celebrations lesser the business in Hospitals - people fall less ill after religious celebrations like Deepawali is a statistics available from your next door family nursing home. I asked Dr Rashi - if there was a correlation , and not as so much as the authority as Mr Lewitt - she said killer illness like  Dengu and others perish after deepawali - what a genetic timing the dengu mosquito has !! But the factual position is - smoke from bursting crackers is a far greater insect killer /natural  balancing factor compared to  any federal programme on health preservation / urban or rural health mission so -

Here is another socially sustainable reason to celebrate Deepawali with community and extended family and welcome Goddess laxmi with open hands. As usual with the support of some active volunteers we have conjured  up a small community celebration as follows :

Place - Community Park - Land -I

Time - 21:30 hrs till 23:30 hrs.
