Subject: Coopting this thread re: refinery explosion
Hi folks,I’m wondering if any of you heard for your local officials or even received a phone call about the refinery explosion. I’m located near 21st and Passyunk. We were fast asleep at my house, and because we have a three month old at home (!!!) we do not typically engage with the news first thing. I’m very disturbed by the fact that I did not receive any information directly about the refinery explosions, either as a citizen or as the president of an RCO. My mom sent me a text message to check on me and told me what was happening. But unfortunately there are a lot of people who are more vulnerable and isolated than me! I get phone calls and emails from my local officials about events all the time, so why was there silence about this? I can smell it in my home!I would love to know if you received any official communication regarding the explosion, either as a citizen or an RCO representative.Thank you,Elizabeth Crutchley--

I can arrange such a meeting for mid-July at CityLife Church 20 & Geary, IF I know there will be outstanding attendance and all will participate. PGW (and others) needs to see HUNDREDS of people in order to feel the pain and hopefully we can send a message far and wide NOT to jackpot us all again!!!It is the principal of the matter. No notice to those who are affected = means something bad is happening! Before I tackle this time - consuming and expensive venture, please advise which groups will participate by spreading notice of meeting and making a commitment to send at least 10 people. This is from PGW -Barbara A. MANY OF US HAVE EXTENSIVE PAPERWORK AT PLANNING COMMISSION AS WE JUMPED THROUGH THE HOOPS TO GAIN / RETAIN OUR RCO STATUS. WE ALL SHOULD HAVE BEEN FORMALLY NOTIFIED OF THIS PROPOSAL WELL BEFORE THIS WEEK.As Volunteers, we can not take off from work on short notice to attend Council hearing to protest in person.Thank You all for your consideration regarding this vital matter.RCOs Response Second Councilmatic District - Bill #181063THESE GROUPS RECEIVED NO OFFICIAL COMMUNITY OUTREACH FOR PROPOSED PASSYUNK LGN CENTER - LIST AS OF JUNE 12TH -
