Unfortunately, we have only 20-25 % of our crude requirement available in India and the rest has to be imported..and this is a major chunk of our forex.

 

There may be many other such things...

 

When compared to this, soap and shampoo are peanuts.

 

Now, you may say, use बैल गाडी instead .. but may not be feasible today
