This is to request for circulation of this e-mail among interested students who would like to work as JRF at IIT Bhubaneswar in a 3-years ISRO sponsored project on Scatsat-1 scatterometer data utilization with the option to pursue PhD degree.

 

The applicant has to apply for the PhD programme of IIT Bhubaneswar online at: http://webapps.iitbbs.ac.in/phd-application/     

(Last date for online applications: 31st October 2017, 12 midnight).

The JRF selection is to be made from the PhD applicants to SEOCS at IIT Bhubaneswar for the session starting January 2018. Selected JRF shall have the option to enroll for PhD from the date of joining (following the institutional rules and guidelines) while receiving fellowship from the ISRO sponsored project.

 

Consolidated Fellowship: Rs 25,000 pm (2 years) & Rs 28,000 (3rd year) with HRA

 

Qualification: M.Sc. (with GATE/NET/DST-INSPIRE) / B.E. or B.Tech. (with GATE/NET/DST-INSPIRE) / M.Tech. (through GATE) with 1st Class in: 

Computer Sciences/ Physics/ Marine Sciences/ Atmospheric Sciences/ Mathematics/Remote Sensing (Science Stream)/ Geoinformatics (Science Stream)/ Engineering Disciplines and a consistently good academic record. Mathematics at UG level is mandatory.                               

 

Desirable but not compulsory:

(i)   Knowledge of Computer Programming (C, FORTRAN, MATLAB, Ferret/GraDS, Unix/Linux or equivalent).

(ii)  Experiencin Data Analysis and Ocean Observations will be an advantage.
