Good Afternoon Every body!

First I would Like to Express my Sincere Gratitudes to Dr. Ahouari for her Tireless efforts in Assisting us and for being our Valuable Resource and for grouping us in this group. Thank You So Much. Then, I wish all the best for all the Second Year Master Students of this year who are conducting a Thesis. Best of Luck.

I have a Question to ask about the References.
I used in my Background of the Study a book Edited by (Thomas Elwyn, 2002). but the Quotation I have used was extracted  from a Chapter (in the same book) but this chapter (the total chapter) is written by another Writer.

What should I write in the References and in the bibliography according to the APA Style?

Thanks in advance
best regards

Dear Mr. Malek. Thank you for your reply.

When you extract a passage from a given book, it will be considered as a quotation, it will be put between quotation marks "..." if it wasn't changed. This is not the problem I faced... What I mean is that, I took a passage from a chapter (written by Sassia Ghedjghoudj) in  a book (Edited by Thomas Elwyn) and this passage is also reported by Sasdsia Ghedjghoudj from Haouam (1990).

So, how should I write the reference in my list of references?
Thanks in advance and best regards ^^

but she wrote that this quotation is from someone eles. so, it's not her own reference because she herself took it from another

Dear all,
If you use an edited book and you need to refer to one chapter and one author from it, use the form as in this example:

Schumann, J. (1999). ‘A neurobiological perspective on affect and methodology in second language learning’ in J. Arnold. Affect in Language Learning. Cambridge: Cambridge University Press.

Do not hesitate if you need more assistance. I try to make my comments minimal to let you develop your critical thinking first. I enjoy reading you all.
Regards

Hello Dr. Ahouari! I hope You are Doing well

I always find difficulties in referencing Edited Books.

1. when the quotation taken is from a book edited by Author A from a chapter by Author B, but the quatation is of a third Author C.
What should I write near the quotation (As reference) and in the list of Bibliography.

Thanks in advance and have a nice day.
