We are delighted to announce the release of Resara Server Beta 1!
Beta 1 has many important new features, like DNS and DHCP admin tools,
as well as being extensively tested by our 4 beta sites.

In conjunction with this release, our website has gotten a new makeover,
and we have launched Resara Server Community Edition, which will be
the free and open source version of Resara Server once the commercial
version has been released.

In anticipation of the 1.0 release sometime next month, we consider
Beta 1 to be stable and ready for wider use.  We are also offering
professional technical support for any businesses interested in
deploying the beta before the 1.0 release.

Please go to our website and download this release!  We think you will
be impressed by how far Resara Server has progressed in these last few
months.

Also, it seems that I sent the Alpha 3 release announcement to the wrong list. So I'm including the changes for Alpha 3 as well.

Beta 1 Changes
========================
New Features
    * DHCP and DNS admin UIs
    * IP Change UI
    * Password Policy UI
    * The profile tab in the user editor now has browse buttons
    * When editing the home directory of a user, the directory is created if it does not exist
    * The management console will warn you if the server version doesn't match the console's
    * The CLI utilities command line arguments have been cleaned up

Bug Fixes
    * You no longer need to pass a username and password to a CLI utility when it is running on the server
    * The rdsacledit can now read permissions
    * Editing NT permissions on a folder no longer overwrites permissions on sub folders
    * User and group names always resolve properly when editing permissions in the share tab

Known Issues
    * On Windows 7, after changing the IP address of the server, it may take several minutes before the management console can connect again.
