ClickEnable Tiling to be able to set tiling options. Enabling Tiling allows you to choose any width for your image. Any portion of the image larger than the width of your page size is moved to another tile. When Enable Tiling is disabled, the image size is restricted to a single tile where the maximum width is the available print width of your printer.

The Submit Tiles as Separate Jobs option allows you to send each tile to RIP-Queue for printing as individual jobs. Using this feature improves your speed because the first tile can begin printing while remaining tiles are being processed.

The Default Tile determines the size of each tile. The Default Tile size cannot be larger than the maximum Width and Height values. To change the default tile size, click on the data field for the dimension you want to change, and either type in the new dimension or use the up and down buttons next to the data field.

If you set the default tile size to less than the maximum print width of the printer, the Default Tile size takes precedence. The actual tile width is the width entered under either the default tile setting or Custom Tile.

Weld Overlap reserves a portion of the Overlap Tile area for the welding adhesive. Ink can inhibit the adhesive from forming a perfect bond when joining two tiles, and Weld Overlap ensures an ink-free area. Click Weld Overlap to use this feature.

The unique nature of onyx tiles can bring with it a lot of tiles with inconsistent colors or patterns. To assist with the laying of onyx tiles, create a dry layout for the tiles to ensure that the tiles are blended well and the colors are well varied. Once you are happy with it, proceed to install your stunning onyx stone tiles.

The highly porous nature of the onyx stone makes it extremely susceptible to moisture, etching and stains. As such, onyx tiles should be sealed with a sealer designed for porous stones. Once sealed, the tiles can be grouted. A good sealer will keep stains at bay while causing water to bead on the surface of the onyx tiles similar to that of a waxed car.

Although most people believe onyx stone to be hardy and categorize it in the same categories as marble or granite, the onyx stone is incredibly soft. The quickest way to etch or dull onyx stone is for it to come in contact with acidic liquids such as vinegar, lemon, or red wine. When cleaning onyx tiles, ensure that you use a mild soap and warm water. Clean your tiles in a circular motion, followed by fresh water to pick up any residual soap. Avoid bleaches or other harsh chemicals and floor cleaners when maintaining your onyx tiles.

Due to the nature of porcelain tiles and the way that they are produced, a degree of variation in dimensions should be expected. Whilst this is minimal, it can become more noticeable on large format porcelain tiles. In order to avoid emphasising this, if staggering joints then it should be by a maximum of 30% of the length.

Tiles are usually thin, square or rectangular coverings manufactured from hard-wearing material such as ceramic, stone, metal, baked clay, or even glass. They are generally fixed in place in an array to cover roofs, floors, walls, edges, or other objects such as tabletops. Alternatively, tile can sometimes refer to similar units made from lightweight materials such as perlite, wood, and mineral wool, typically used for wall and ceiling applications. In another sense, a tile is a construction tile or similar object, such as rectangular counters used in playing games (see tile-based game). The word is derived from the French word tuile, which is, in turn, from the Latin word tegula, meaning a roof tile composed of fired clay.

Tiles are often used to form wall and floor coverings, and can range from simple square tiles to complex or mosaics. Tiles are most often made of ceramic, typically glazed for internal uses and unglazed for roofing, but other materials are also commonly used, such as glass, cork, concrete and other composite materials, and stone. Tiling stone is typically marble, onyx, granite or slate. Thinner tiles can be used on walls than on floors, which require more durable surfaces that will resist impacts.

Decorative tilework or tile art should be distinguished from mosaic, where forms are made of great numbers of tiny irregularly positioned tesserae, each of a single color, usually of glass or sometimes ceramic or stone. There are various tile patterns, such as herringbone, staggered, offset, grid, stacked, pinwheel, parquet de Versailles, basket weave, tiles Art, diagonal, chevron, and encaustic which can range in size, shape, thickness, and color.[2]

The use of sun-dried bricks or adobe was the main method of building in Mesopotamia where river mud was found in abundance along the Tigris and Euphrates. Here the scarcity of stone may have been an incentive to develop the technology of making kiln-fired bricks to use as an alternative. To strengthen walls made from sun-dried bricks, fired bricks began to be used as an outer protective skin for more important buildings like temples, palaces, city walls, and gates. Making fired bricks is an advanced pottery technique. Fired bricks are solid masses of clay heated in kilns to temperatures of between 950 and 1,150C, and a well-made fired brick is an extremely durable object. Like sun-dried bricks, they were made in wooden molds but for bricks with relief decorations, special molds had to be made.

Tiling was used in the second century by the Sinhalese kings of ancient Sri Lanka, using smoothed and polished stone laid on floors and in swimming pools. The techniques and tools for tiling is advanced, evidenced by the fine workmanship and close fit of the tiles. Such tiling can be seen in Ruwanwelisaya and Kuttam Pokuna in the city of Anuradhapura. The nine-storied Lovamahapaya (3rd century BCE) had copper roof tiles.[5] The roofs were tiled, with red, white, yellow, turquoise and brown tiles. There were also tiles made of bronze. Sigiriya also had an elaborate gatehouse made of timber and brick masonry with multiple tiled roofs. The massive timber doorposts remaining today indicate this.
