First, some background: The Inspiron 14 5485 2-in-1 uses Modern Standby by default. On the 5485 (and its larger cousin the 5585), this sleep mode is buggy and tends to crash Windows when resuming from a long sleep. The driver update did not resolve this issue, but did cause a new problem with waking from sleep. When trying to wake up, the keyboard backlights turn on, but the screen remains off. (Both the built-in and external monitors stay black and unlit.) Also, it seems Windows doesn't come back up properly, because attempts to blindly turn off the computer with keyboard shortcuts all fail. Short-pressing the power button also fails to put the computer back to sleep. I have no choice but to long-press the power button to turn off the computer.


Incidentally, I also tried reenabling Modern Standby with all drivers and BIOS updated just to check if it works better now, but it still has the same instability as before when waking from long sleeps. So I'm sticking with S3 sleep and the old Wifi/Bluetooth drivers.
