Client:         Washington State Office of the Secretary of State (OSOS)


Job Description:

Position Summary: The Lead UI/UX Designer will design an intuitive, accessible, and user-centered interface for the VoteWA Dashboard and Search functionalities. This role ensures that the user experience aligns with OSOS business needs, usability principles, and WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards.   Key Responsibilities Collaborate with OSOS stakeholders and county subject matter experts to gather user interface requirements. Develop wireframes, prototypes, and visual mockups for the new Dashboard and Lite/Refine search modes. Conduct usability testing sessions and iterate designs based on feedback. Ensure compliance with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1) and Section 508 standards. Work with front-end developers to translate design specifications into functional components. Support documentation of design standards, patterns, and accessibility validations. Required Qualifications 5+ years of hands-on experience in UI/UX design for enterprise or government web applications. Expertise with design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch. Demonstrated experience implementing accessible and responsive web design. Strong understanding of information architecture and front-end workflows. Experience collaborating within Agile development teams.
