Client: State of Mississippi - Mississippi Dept. of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks
Location: Jackson, Mississippi (2/3 days Hybrid Onsite Role)
Job Description:
- The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP) is seeking qualified consultants to design, build, and implement new modules and make improvements to its existing Natural Resource Information System (NRIS).
Project Scope and Objectives
- Develop a new tool to track funded projects, including spatial location, funding ratios, and the ability to attach documents and photos.
- Add a workflow tracking component to monitor the status of applications (e.g., funded, denied, paid).
- Create a spatially explicit project database for completed projects.
- Implement a landscape ranking feature using provided raster files clipped to two different scales based on project polygons and a pre-selected radius.
- Fix bugs and make new developments to the web report, including incorporating math for the PDF report.
- Import and integrate all cleaned DMAP historical data from the 1990s and earlier.
- Develop and incorporate a pre- and/or post-season survey module with five multiple-choice questions that can be automatically sent on a specific date.
- Incorporate lactation and buck body weight correction factors.
- Modernize all maps within the NRIS to use the latest Esri JavaScript SDK version and best practices.
- Provide ongoing maintenance and fixes as needed and directed by the MDWFP.
Required Skills and Experience
- Local Systems Architect: Must have a local systems architect in the greater Jackson metro area to oversee the project and attend on-site meetings.
The developer assigned to each application must have verifiable working experience in the following areas:
- 1+ years of experience with Microsoft ASP.NET web application development using Visual Studio 2010 or later, including mobile optimization and client-side tools.
- 1+ years of experience with Telerik UI for ASP.NET.
- 1+ years of experience with Telerik Reporting.
- 1+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server development.
- 1+ years of experience with IIS, JavaScript, Bootstrap, HTML5, and Responsive Design.
General Abilities (Documented experience required):
- Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to interact with both functional users and technical staff.
- Ability to listen and solve problems.
- Ability to create and maintain documentation.
- Ability to manage and facilitate the resolution of non-technical issues.
Bonus Qualifications:
- Additional consideration will be given for Microsoft competencies and certifications directly related to ASP.NET and/or SQL development.
