About the Role:

This role supports enterprise software testing and quality assurance for large-scale pension administration systems, including Benefit Connect (Sagitec Neospin) and Data Quality projects. You’ll work on complex software testing, UAT, data validation, and enterprise QA process improvement initiatives.

Scope of the Project:

The focus is on testing modernization efforts, enterprise QA standardization, and validation of pension system applications, ensuring quality, compliance, and performance across large-scale integrated systems.

Daily Duties / Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute test plans, test cases, scripts, and test data
• Support functional, integration, regression, performance, load, stress, and UAT testing
• Collaborate with business and IT SMEs to gather testing requirements
• Analyze test results, identify defects, and validate fixes
• Prepare and maintain testing documentation and defect reports
• Perform data validation and data quality activities
• Create and manipulate test datasets using SQL/T-SQL
• Support enterprise testing standards and QA framework improvements
• Provide status reporting, recommendations, and project updates
• Deliver knowledge transfer and training to CalSTRS staff

Required Skills (Ranked):

• 10+ years experience in software testing and QA within SDLC environments
• 5+ years experience developing test plans, test strategies, and test configurations
• 5+ years experience with test data preparation and testing environments
• Strong experience with UAT, regression, integration, system, and performance testing
• Experience using JIRA, HP ALM, Bugzilla, JAMA, or similar defect tools
• Strong SQL / T-SQL experience (queries, stored procedures, functions, triggers)
• Experience validating legacy system data conversions
• Experience in data quality testing

Preferred Skills:

• Experience supporting large enterprise or pension systems
• Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, reporting)
• Experience assisting business users with test data and batch jobs
• Experience with Sagitec Neospin / pension administration systems

Required Education:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  (Diploma copy required at submission)

Environment and Tools:

• JIRA, HP ALM, JAMA, Bugzilla
• SQL Server / T-SQL
• Excel (advanced reporting and analysis)
• Sagitec Neospin / Benefit Connect environment

Additional Skills:

• Strong analytical and defect analysis capability
• Ability to work independently on complex testing efforts
• Strong documentation and reporting skills
• Ability to collaborate with both technical and business teams

This is not a basic QA role you’re expected to own enterprise-level testing, data validation, and QA framework improvements. If someone only has manual testing experience without deep SDLC, SQL, and test strategy work, they won’t keep up.
