We have 4 more openings  for Senior Java / Web Services role for two peer groups in SIPD at Fidelity.

Contract Length 12 months

 

Location 2 - Smithfield, RI (contract)

Location 2 - Raleigh/Durham, NC (contract-hire ideally)

Position Description

This Senior Software Engineer will play hands on web services developer role within the PPA team in a Scrum Agile environment. This candidate will be responsible for the creation of quality web service based software components that are used by PPA customers. The Senior Software Engineer will work closely with Tech. Lead and deliver quality, scalable capabilities on time.  He/she will be expected to provide guidance and mentoring other developers.

 

The roles in technical nature are very similar...Key core skills are as follows

 

-Core Java

-SOA (Service Oriented Architecture)

-Spring Framework/Integration (Spring Core, Spring MVC, Spring IOC, Spring Annotations)

-Web Services (focusing on building RESTful based services)

-WSO2 or any ESB (Enterprise Service Bus) experience

-Financial Services

 

They are looking for both Principal and Senior levels

 

Primary Responsibilities:

·         Responsible for ensuring that assigned implementation tasks conforms to agree upon architecture direction

·         Hands on design and coding, particularly in the implementation of scalable solutions and time-to-market-enabling frameworks

·         Primary point of contact for web service development

·         Mentor software engineers in code design and optimization

·         Understand end to end technical architecture

·         Understand business context and problem that is being solved

·         Perform on-call support responsibilities as required from time to time

·         Develop reusable capabilities and accelerators to enable flawless execution of IT projects

 

Education and Experience:

·         A Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline is preferable

·         7+ years’ experience in design and implementation of systems with fairly complex architectures

·         Deep knowledge and development experience of Web service platforms and middle tier technologies

·         Experience in Financial Performance measurement services is preferred

 

Skills and Knowledge:

·         Proven ability to work with limited supervision

·         Strong analytical and problem solving skills

·         Motivated, self-directed, aptitude for learning and a team player

·         Methodology: Agile

·         Collaboration skills - in particular, must be able to collaborate across a large company and across multiple geographically distributed locations.

·         Object Oriented Principles

·         Extensive  web service platform experience

·         Experience with cloud architecture patterns

·         Experience with massively parallel compute patterns

·         Java, J2EE, Maven

·         Web Services, REST, SOAP

·         Spring framework, Spring Batch,

·         Git, Stash, Jenkins (Preferred)

·         Web containers(preferably Tomcat)

·         Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery model/Change Management process

·         API Management platform (WSO2) experience is a plus

·         Strong presentation and interpersonal skills

·         Experience in vendor financial performance products is a plus.
