5-6 years of proven skills with J2EE/Java Full Stack (must have)
Familiarity with traditional web services
Demonstrated soft skill talent, someone who could be developed into a team lead (and wants to be)
Maintenance and evolution of legacy Java EE code (javax package), ensuring system stability and operational continuity.
Analysis and resolution of incidents in applications deployed on IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS).
Use of tools such as PuTTY for server access and diagnostics.
Knowledge and management of FTP servers, including file flows and process validation.
Progressive migration of legacy applications to modern solutions using the Spring Framework (Java 23).
Support and validation of new code deployments on OpenShift, working with containers (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
Ticket handling in ServiceNow, including:
· Evidence collection
· Technical analysis
· Root cause diagnosis
· Clear communication of findings and resolution
Execution and support of production deployments with an average cadence of every three weeks (variable based on project needs).
Ongoing coordination with other Tech Leads and teams to ensure successful deployments and migrations.
As the owner of legacy applications, direct support to developers from other teams consuming our services, including:
· Resolution of functional and technical questions
· Non-ticketed but operationally critical support
· Provisioning and maintenance of shared JARs and libraries used by other teams and applications
· Active participation in technical analyses that directly impact the stability of the project ecosystem.
Role Description
The role I perform combines technical responsibility, deep
knowledge of the legacy system, and active participation in the modernization
of the platform.
Although we are not the formal “core” team of the project, our applications are
heavily consumed by other teams, which makes us a constant technical reference
point.
This level of interaction generates high demand, but it also
enables continuous learning, exposure to real production issues, and technical
decision‑making with direct impact.
The experience gained through L3 support, migrations, production deployments,
and cross‑team coordination supports the growth of the role and justifies the
promotion, aligning it with the current and future needs of the project
Rate $55/hr
