Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Fabric Data Architect to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise data solutions using Microsoft Fabric. This is a senior technical consultant role responsible for architecting scalable, secure, and high-performance data platforms that power analytics, AI, and business intelligence for clients. You will be the go-to expert for Microsoft Fabric (including Lakehouse’s, Warehouses, OneLake, Medallion Architecture, Notebooks, Pipelines, Power BI, etc.) and will translate complex business requirements into robust, future-proof data architectures.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the end-to-end architecture and design of Microsoft Fabric platforms, including OneLake, Lakehouse, Warehouse, and integration with existing data estate.
• Design scalable data architecture using Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold layers) in Fabric Lakehouse.
• Architect and optimize Data Pipelines using Data Factory, Dataflows Gen2, Spark, and Notebooks.
• Design and implement Real-Time Intelligence solutions using Eventhouse, KQL, and streaming pipelines.
• Establish and enforce data governance, security, and compliance frameworks using Microsoft Purview integrated with Fabric.
• Define and implement best practices for cost optimization, performance tuning, and capacity management in Fabric.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, BI Developers, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver high-value data solutions.
• Lead the migration strategy from legacy platforms (e.g., Azure Synapse, Databricks, Snowflake, on-prem data warehouses) to Microsoft Fabric.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to data engineering and architecture teams.
• Create and maintain architecture diagrams, standards, and documentation.
• Evaluate new Fabric features and capabilities and drive their adoption.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or solution architecture.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric (or strong equivalent experience with Azure Synapse + Power BI + Purview).
• Deep expertise in:
o Microsoft Fabric core workloads: Lakehouse, Warehouse, Notebooks, Pipelines, Power BI
o Delta Lake, Spark, PySpark, and SQL
o Medallion architecture and Lakehouse patterns
o Data modeling (star schema & dimensional modeling)
o Proficiency in SQL, Python, Spark, KQL, and Git-based CI/CD for data.
o in cloud environments.
Preferred Skills
• Microsoft Certified: Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate (DP-600) or Azure Data Engineer Associate (DP-203).
• Experience with large-scale Fabric implementations in enterprise environments (multi-workspace, domain-driven design, Capacity Units management).
• Background in migrating from SQL, Oracle and/or legacy ETL tools to Fabric.
• Experience with AI/ML integration in Fabric (e.g., Azure AI, semantic models, ontologies and Copilot).
• Knowledge of domain-driven design and data mesh principles.
• Previous experience as a Data Architect or Solution Architect in a complex organizational setting.
• Enterprise data governance and Microsoft Purview
• Strong experience with Azure cloud services (ADLS Gen2, Azure Entra ID, RBAC, Private Endpoints, etc.)
