Education
- Bachelor’s Degree or technical field or related work experience
Skills
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting Kubernetes workloads. Ability to diagnose container lifecycle issues.
- Experience interpreting cluster events, logs, and metrics to isolate infrastructure vs application-level failures.
- Familiarity with K8s networking, service discovery, and load balancing behaviour.
- Knowledge of container orchestration concepts, scaling mechanisms, and high-availability patterns.
- Extensive experience packaging and delivering software to a test environment
- Well-versed in automating software deployments using tools using Harness
- Experience with software source control tools such as GitHub, Gitlab and Linux shell scripting environments such as bash
- Ability to work under limited direction and handle multiple assignments simultaneously
- Thorough understanding of the Agile Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) Ability to interact with both the leadership and the implementation teams for swift resolutions
- Understanding of robust software development processes and software configuration management policies
- Experience working with agile teams utilizing Scrum or Kanban Experience with Docker and deploying Docker containers in Kubernetes eco system Experience with the Atlassian suite of products such as Jira, Confluence Schedule
- Office environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong ability to multitask, cross-collaborate with development teams and prioritize work efficiently.
Experience
- 3+ years of Linux or other Unix systems experience
- 3+ years of experience deploying software using CI/CD technologies such as Jenkins, Harness
- 3+ years of experience working on code management tools such as Gitlab, Bitbucket
- 3+ years of hands-on experience on containerization technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes
- 5+ years of experience on SDLC

Job Title: Java Backend Engineer

Responsibilities
- Lead the Design and Develop Backend Systems: Create and maintain server-side logic, ensuring high performance and scalability.
- API Development: Design and implement RESTful APIs to facilitate communication between server-side applications and end-user systems.
- Containerize applications: Using Docker for consistent deployment across environments.
- Security Implementation: Implement data security measures to protect sensitive information.
- Collaboration: Work closely with front-end developers, product experts, and other team members to ensure seamless integration between server-side and client-side components.
- Optimization: Optimize applications/container for speed and scalability, ensuring efficient performance and resource utilization for production workloads.
- Troubleshooting and Debugging: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, security vulnerabilities, and server-side errors.
- Documentation: Provide comprehensive code documentation and other technical inputs.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: At least 5-7 years of professional experience in backend web development of a commercial production product, including familiarity with the full software development lifecycle.
- 3+ years proven track record programming in Python and using Python-based back-end frameworks
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in backend programming languages (e.g., Python, Flask), cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure), and database management systems (e.g., MySQL, MongoDB).
- Certifications: Certifications in backend frameworks or cloud platforms are a plus.
Additional Preferred Skills
- Cloud Computing: Experience with cloud services and infrastructure management.
- Good Interaction and knowledge of UI Code and Frameworks (e.g., Vue, REACT, JavaScript).
- Managed container orchestration in cloud environments.
- Microservices Architecture: Familiarity with designing and developing microservices.
- DevOps Practices: Knowledge of DevOps methodologies and tools.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Communication: Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
