Overview

We are seeking an experienced Linux System Administrator with strong hands-on expertise in managing enterprise Linux environments and providing data center touch support. The role involves server administration, hardware troubleshooting, and support for day-to-day data center operations.

Key Responsibilities

Linux System Administration

• Install, configure, and manage Linux servers (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu).
• Perform system administration tasks: user management, patching, backups, security hardening.
• Manage file systems, storage, NFS, LVM, RAID, and perform system tuning.
• Monitor and troubleshoot server performance, logs, and system services.
• Automate tasks using Shell scripting / Python / Ansible.
• Manage application deployments and configuration changes.
• Handle OS updates, upgrades, and vulnerability remediation.
• Troubleshoot network-related issues (DNS, DHCP, routing, firewall basics).

Data Center Touch Support

• Perform rack and stack installation of servers, switches, and storage.
• Handle fiber/copper cabling, labeling, and power connections.
• Replace, upgrade, and troubleshoot hardware components (RAM, HDD/SSD, NICs, PSUs).
• Provide remote hands support for on-site tasks.
• Run hardware diagnostics and coordinate vendor RMAs.
• Monitor environmental sensors, equipment status, and physical security.
• Maintain asset inventory, documentation, and physical layout diagrams.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of Linux OS administration.
• Hands-on data center operations experience.
• Proficiency with Shell scripting and automation tools.
• Understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, load balancers, firewalls, and network basics.
• Experience with VMware / KVM virtualization.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus).
• Experience with ITSM tools (ServiceNow, Jira, Remedy).
