Job Title: Azure Data engineer
Type : Contract
Location: Weehawken NJ


Mandatory Skills: Databricks, Python and Pyspark

Key Responsibilities:
Design and build scalable data pipelines using Azure Databricks, PySpark, and Azure Data Factory
Develop and maintain efficient ETL/ELT processes to ingest, transform, and store data from various sources (structured, semi-structured, and unstructured)
Implement data quality checks and ensure data reliability and consistency
Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver high-quality data solutions
Optimize PySpark jobs and manage performance tuning in Databricks environment
Manage and orchestrate workflows using Azure services like Data Lake Storage Gen2, Data Factory, Azure Synapse, and Event Hubs
Implement data governance, security, and monitoring using Azure tools and best practices
Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation

Required Skills & Experience:
12+years of experience as a Data Engineer with hands-on work in Azure cloud ecosystem
Strong expertise in Azure Databricks and PySpark for big data processing
Proficiency in Python for scripting and data manipulation
Experience with Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics
Solid understanding of Delta Lake architecture and data lakehouse concepts
Experience with CI/CD tools and version control (e.g., Azure DevOps, Git)
Knowledge of data modeling, partitioning strategies, and performance tuning in a cloud data platform
Familiarity with streaming data tools (e.g., Azure Event Hubs, Kafka) is a plus
