How easy would it be to return to the stable v0.5 if I have an issue with the 1.0 beta?

I'd like to try out the 1.0 beta and see if there are any usability improvements, but I'd rather not do so if I can't easily downgrade back to the stable version should I run into an issue (be that issue technical or a matter of personal preference). Can I downgrade easily and retain my settings and whitelists?

I think you can do so. But I would backup my whitelist, you can find it in the profile folder form firefox.
I use the beta version for more than 1 year an it works very fine.

You are unable to export/import your settings in the beta, im about to downgrade also...
