Job Summary

Morgan Stanley's Non-Financial Risk Technology (NFRT) is seeking a Senior SRE/DevOps Engineer with 7–12 years of experience to join their Application and Data Engineering (ADE) team. This is a Hybrid role in New York, NY (3 days onsite). The engineer will focus on modernization, containerization, and automation for platforms dealing with fraud, financial crimes, and legal aspects. Mandatory expertise includes Kubernetes/OpenShift, strong Linux troubleshooting, and automation scripting (Python/Shell). The role involves application engineering, tooling, and incorporating SRE practices to ensure performance and reliability.

 

 

SRE & Platform Engineering

  • Incorporate SRE Principles by developing automated solutions for long-standing problems (toil reduction, resiliency, observability).
  • Deployment of technology using IaC, CICD pipelines, and GitHub.
  • Experience with monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana) and configuring customized monitoring solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with web servers (Apache / Nginx), application integration, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Exposure to data pipeline technologies like Kafka, Redis, and Airflow (Team uses these).

 

Professional Requirements

  • Strong infrastructure knowledge in Linux/Unix, Databases, Storage, and Networking.
  • Support vendor/vendor technology onboarding following Morgan Stanley security blueprints.
  • Prior experience of working in a global financial organization is an advantage.
