Role: OMS Consultant

Location: Atlanta , GA

Type – Long Term Contract

 

 

 

Role Description:

Solution Architecture Design

Define end-to-end OMS architecture leveraging IBM OMS, including modules such as Distributed Order Management, SIP, Logistics Management, Supplier Collaboration and Reverse Logistics.

Drive assessments for the projects in all modules of IBM OMS in alignment with enterprise to-be state architecture Design integration strategies with ERP, WMS, CRM, e-commerce, payment, and logistics platforms.

Prepare and review high-level and low-level design documents lead technical design reviews.

Ensure architecture supports business requirements for the project implementation

 

Implementation Integration

Lead the implementation, and customization of IBM OMS pipelines, participant models, inventory, order routing, and payment processes.

Guide integration efforts with third-party and in-house systems (ERP, tax, CRM, logistics, etc.).

Oversee system scalability, security, compliance, and performance tuning.

Establish and govern CICD pipelines and DevOps processes for OMS solutions.

 

Technical Leadership Team Management

Mentor and manage OMS development teams, fostering technical excellence and best practices.

Provide technical guidance and support to business analysts, developers, and QA teams.

Champion agile methodologies and operational excellence.

Conduct technical workshops and knowledge-sharing sessions for the team.

 

Stakeholder Engagement

Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and IT teams to align architecture with business goals.

Present solution options, fit-gap analyses, and roadmaps to senior leadership.

Serve as the key technical contact for cross-functional teams throughout the project lifecycle.

 

Project Delivery Governance

Lead the solution implementation phase, including detailed design, coding, testing, UAT, production release, and post-warranty support Track IBM OMS product roadmap and coordinate product upgrades as needed.

Work with IBM in case of the product bugs and align on the bug fixes according to the clients release dates Ensure timely and successful project completion, managing risks and mitigation strategies.

 

 

Essential Skills:

Required Skills Qualifications

Bachelors or masters degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.

15 years of IT experience, with at least 10 years in OMS architecture and implementation.

Proven track record of multiple IBM OMS implementations for large retailers.

Strong understanding on the product know-hows (what product can support and what product cant support).

Excellent hands-on experience in customization of DOM, Pricing, Inventory, Call Center, Store, Supplier Collaboration modules Experience with Nextgen OMoC 2.0 Expertise in customization of next gen call center and store order management Deep expertise in IBM OMS (including containerized/cloud versions), Java, Angular, XML, XSLT, REST/SOAP web services, and microservices.

Expertise in both B2B and B2C Implementations Deep understanding of Sales Order, Procurement Orders - Purchase and Transfer Order flows Strong understanding of order lifecycle, inventory management, Invoice processing, payment processing, Tax integrations and reverse logistics.

Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

Experience in agile development environments and leading cross-functional teams.

 

Good to Have

Experience with cloud platforms, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and integration technologies (Kafka, MQ, ELK).

 

Preferred Skills

IBM OMS certification(s).

Experience with performance testing and tuning of OMS solutions.

Familiarity with DevOps, CICD, and observability tools.

Experience in retail commerce and omnichannel order management.

Understanding of Agile working model

Onsite Offshore model US customer with Indian Delivery team, so flexibility with the timings is needed Good functional and development skills
