Job Summary

We are seeking a Sr. Business Systems Analyst with a strong background in financial payments and messaging standards to support enterprise-level systems integration. This role is focused on the transition and mapping of global messaging standards, specifically ISO 20022 (MT/MX). You will act as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, performing deep data analysis and defining high-level system designs for platforms utilizing MQ, Kafka, and REST APIs. Experience within the Sanctions domain or familiarity with vendor platforms like Firco or Pelican is highly advantageous.


Key Responsibilities & Required Skills

Payment Messaging & Standards

  • ISO 20022 Transition: Lead the analysis and mapping of financial messages between legacy MT formats and modern MX (ISO 20022) standards.
  • Data Mapping: Perform complex data analysis to ensure high-fidelity translation of payment data across global banking systems.
  • Payments Domain: Apply general knowledge of domestic and international payment rails to document business requirements and system specifications.

Systems Design & Connectivity

  • Integration Logic: Define high-level system designs for real-time and batch processing environments utilizing IBM MQ, Kafka, and REST APIs.
  • Technical Communication: Translate business needs into technical requirements for middleware and connectivity protocols, ensuring seamless data flow between internal and external platforms.

Sanctions & Compliance (Highly Desired)

  • Sanctions Knowledge: (Preferred) Apply understanding of sanctions screening processes and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Vendor Platforms: (Nice-to-Have) Prior experience with industry-standard sanctions platforms such as FircoSoft or Pelican.

Mandatory Technical Requirements

  1. Financial Standards: Expert-level knowledge of ISO 20022 (MT/MX) and global payment messaging standards.
  2. System Integration: Strong understanding of MQ, Kafka, and REST API communication protocols.
  3. Data Analysis: Proven experience in complex Data Mapping and systems analysis within a banking environment.
  4. Stakeholder Management: Ability to communicate effectively with both C-suite business leaders and technical engineering teams.
